Scope of Aeronautical Engineering

Required Qualifications

Eligibility: 10 + 2 Science; high percentage in Science subjects and qualifying exam (JEE)
Candidate should be a BE/B.Tech. in aeronautics. Some institutes like The Madras Institute of Technology offers a year postgraduate programme in aeronautical engineering for B.Sc. students. Candidate can also study for M.Tech. and Ph.D. in aeronautics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

•    Candidates must have Bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and can also be in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

•    Candidates may have Master degree in any branch of Science/Computer Applications /Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent and can also be in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

•    Candidates qualified the examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (for e.g. AMICE(I), AMIE by IE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Candidates those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

•    The candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.

•    New Paper introduced: Biotechnology (BT) has been introduced as an independent paper from GATE 2010.

•    Common Component of General Aptitude (GA) introduced: Each paper shall have a common General Aptitude (GA) component which will carrying 15 marks from GATE 2010.

Which papers are to be discontinued from GATE 2010 onwards?

The Biotechnology section in Life Sciences (XL) paper has been discontinued from it.
There will not be GATE examination in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PY) paper. For more information about it, the candidates have to visit GATE 2010 website from time to time.

It is expected that IIT JEE application forms will be available in 3rd week of November. You can apply online through IIT website by filling the details in the online form and by sending the printed form with Demand Draft and other documents to specified IIT.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU): Largest Residential University

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is an internationally reputed University and is situated in Varanasi. This is the largest Residential University in the entire of Asia as it covers the area up to 16.5 kilometers. BHU has 127 teaching departments.

Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the great nationalist leader, was the founder of the Banaras Hindu University and founded in the year 1916.
